Working Algorithm of Monitored systems

1. The security system detects something

2. The security system waits 30 to 45 seconds to give the homeowner an opportunity to deactivate the alarm.

3. If during this time the alarm is not deactivated the security system sends a signal to the monitoring center over the telephone.

4. The monitoring center gets the signal and verifies the alarm, usually calling to the home. If they do not receive the password or any answer, they call the police.

5. The police respond.

Unmonitored systems usually comprise of on-site alarms and/or flashing lights. These signals inform the neighbors that it’s necessary to call the emergency service.

Having an unmonitored system, it is best to combine strobe lights and sound alarms. They should be mounted on the external side of the house in a place with very limited access. It is best to show the installation to your neighbors and to locate the siren and flashing lights on the house where it can be easily seen.
